About Chiropractic
In the late 1800's, modern chiropractic was founded by Daniel David (D.D.) Palmer. Through training and eduction he investigated the relationship between the nervous system and bones of the back. He formed hypotheses about how and why the interruption of communication between the brain and body left untreated, results in dysfunction and sometimes pain. In the early part of the 20th century, D.D.'s son B.J. took over control of the school formed by his father. The development and advancement of the profession flourished under B.J. Palmer for the next five decades.
DR. WICKS' METHOD:
Exam
Your first visit includes a complete orthopedic and neurological exam and x-rays or MRI, if needed. X-rays and MRI are taken at Advanced Radiology and read by board certified radiologists.
Consultation
Your first visit as a new patient includes a comprehensive health consultation with the doctor to review your current and past health history. The doctor will compile a diagnosis and treatment plan using this information along with the information from your orthopedic and neurological exam and x-rays.
Treatment
Each individual treatment room has a table designed especially for your chiropractic treatment. The treatment may include adjusting your back, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, feet or other areas of your body, stretching or muscle work. You may also receive ice treatment, activity training, specialized exercises, and electrical muscle stimulation depending on your diagnosis and treatment plan.
Feel Better
When you’re not feeling well due to an accident, injury, long term pain or stress, chiropractic can help you recover faster. Chiropractic treatment focuses on solving the underlying causes of your pain and suffering. Safe and pain-free, chiropractic treatment works with your body’s natural ability to heal itself.
